When I was a child, I heard a woman’s voice coming from a seashell I found inside a cave.

Who was this woman? A pirate who restored balance to the vast ocean, hunted down outlaws, and fought against those who threatened it... I became fascinated by her. I had to find out who she was.

I drew the seashell I had found on the cover of my notebook. Above it, I wrote, “The Legend of the Pirate Queen.” And from that day forward, my life began to take shape around the pursuit of this mystery.

I followed seashells, songs, and legends. I met people from different lands and encountered different cultures. Over the years, I gathered countless stories about the Pirate Queen—stories that, in one way or another, were all connected.
